The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Boyle, Casey and Mercer counties until 7 p.m. EST.
The three counties are in the watch area along with six in Indiana and a total of 38 in Kentucky. A tornado watch means conditions make the development of tornado activity possible.
Other Kentucky counties affected include: Adair, Allen, Anderson, Barren, Breckenridge, Bullitt, Butler, Clinton, Cumberland, Edmonson, Grayson, Green, Hardin, Hart, Henry, Jefferson, Larue, Logan, Marion, Meade, Metcalfe, Monroe, Nelson, Oldham, Russell, Scott, Shelby, Simpson, Spencer, Taylor, Trimble, Warren, Washington and Woodford.
The cities of Danville, Harrodsburg and Liberty are included in the watch.
