Christmas events

The Troy Presbyterian Church will be holding its Christmas pageant and reception on sunday, Dec. 11, at 6 p.m. The reception will be held after the program, which will be performed by the church's youth. Everyone is welcome, and is encouraged to bring finger food.

Troy is also still collecting goods to give to a family in need this holiday season. Canned and non-perishable food items, as well as soap, shampoo, deodorant and other everyday necessities will be needed.

Southern Acres Church will perform The Story: A Presentation of the Living Christmas Tree at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, 6 p.m. on Saturday and 3 and 6 p.m. on Sunday. Hirsch to speak

at Seminary

Alan Hirsch will be Asbury Theological Seminary's guest speaker for the 11 a.m. service in Estes Chapel.

Hirsch is the founder and director of the Forge Mission Training Network. This agency aims to develop missional and pioneering leaders in first-world contexts. Forge operates in Australia and New Zealand, with connections to similar agencies in the United Kingdom and the United States. His passion is to help Christians reach their potential in mission work.

Hirsch has led an inner-city movement that has planted numerous churches in sub-cultural settings in Melbourne, Australia. He has also been involved in strategic leadership in Australia and other commonwealth countries.
