Chrystal Claunch and Chelsea Goodman each scored 10 points and Sabrina Manning added nine for the Scotties, who finished the night 31-for-67 from the floor and 11 of 16 at the free throw line. Mercer had 21 assists, turned the ball over 22 times and had 18 steals.
"It's a good district win for us. We got a bunch of kids some minutes," Souder said.
Andrea Warner and Alyson Burke led Burgin with 12 points each.
BOYS
Burgin 65, Riverside Christian 49
At Lost Creek, the Bulldogs led 14-5 after the first quarter and never looked back to get their first victory of the year by beating Riverside Christian.
Daniel Loane had 10 points and six rebounds, Daniel Howard pulled down 16 of Burgin's 41 boards and scored nine points with four assists and Josh Carey had eight points, four rebounds and five assists.
"It was a pretty good effort, especially bouncing back from a loss Friday (against Collegiate)," Burgin coach Don Irvine said. "It was a good effort all the way around for everybody. It was a good bounceback win, and hopefully a good momentum starter."
Burgin was 26 of 73 from the floor - 1-for-12 from 3-point range, and made 12 of 21 free throws. The Bulldogs handed out 18 assists, turned the ball over 13 times and had 23 steals.
Rockcastle County 74, Garrard County 54
At Lancaster, Rockcastle jumped out to a 32-22 lead at the half then broke the game open in the fourth quarter to down Garrard County in the 3-Bank Tournament.
In the first game, Paul Dunbar beat East Jessmaine 60-50.
Kent Johnson has 12 points and Shane Richardson 14 for the Golden Lions (1-2).
Rockcastle led 53-43 heading to the fourth quarter and outscored Garrard by 10 points for the game's final margin.
FRIDAY'S BOYS GAMES
Southwestern 80, Casey County 68
At Somerset, the Warriors took a 12-point lead the half, withstood a Casey rally and held on for the win.
Keith Price led Casey with 24 points on 9 of 13 shooting, and 6-for-6 at the free throw line, with five rebounds. Jason Sanders had 14 points 10 10 rebounds and Corey Dial had 11 points.
"Southwestern's defense was tough and we just did not screen out enough, yet hung within 12 points at the half," Casey coach Perry Walters said. "Southwestern just outworked us a bit in the first half, and got second shots because of missed screen-outs, and we just couldn't catch them. I thought we did much better job in the second half."
The Rebels (1-3) trailed 46-34 at the half, but cut the lead to six in the second half. Sophomore guard Kellen Sanders came off the bench and hit a 3-pointer with 1:10 remaining to make it a 74-68 game.
Southwestern hit six free throws down the stretch to extend its final margin.
Casey finished the game 27 of 53 from the floor and made all 10 of its free throw attempts. The Rebels had five steals, 15 assists and committed 17 turnovers.
