Shirley June Floyd Young, 76, of Kings Mill Road, Danville, died Wednesday, Dec. 7 at the Danville Center for Health and Rehabilitation.
A native of Detroit, MI., she was born April 13, 1929 to the late Russell Floyd and Mayme Young Silver. She was a retired juvenile officer for Lincoln/Jessamine and Garrard counties, a foster parent, a member of the Moreland Christian Church, and the widow of Robert Earl Young.
Survivors include two sons, Floyd Young of Danville and Russell (Jean) Young of Summerville, SC.; one daughter, Karen (Shelby) Lakes of Stanford; a half sister, Debbie Collins of Junction City; one half brother, Orville Baker of Versailles; five grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Monday, Dec. 12 at the Fox Funeral Home with Bro. David Smith officiating. Burial was in Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
