Edward S. Turpin

Edward S. Turpin, 84, of Hustonville, died Friday, Dec. 16 at Charleston Health Care in Danville.

A native of Casey County, he was born January 1, 1921, to the late John and Della Lane Turpin. He was a retired farmer, worked at Cowdens for over 20 years, a WWII Army veteran, and member of Geneva Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Katherine Marie Shepperson Turpin of Hustonville; one son, Roger (Paula) Turpin of Hustonville; one half-sister, Dorothy Boyd of Danville; and three grandchildren.

Funeral services were held Monday, Dec. 19 at W. L. Pruitt Funeral Home in Moreland with Tim Brown officiating. Burial was in Memorial Gardens. Military rites were conducted by Boyle Post 46 Honor Guard.

Active pallbearers were Troy, Deonna, Benjamin and Gary Turpin, Don Poynter and Jeff Elmore. Honorary pallbearers were Buddy Southerland, Bob Peck, Dewey Coffman, Lou Carmickle, Kenneth Austin and Coy Reynolds.
