A Lincoln County man died Dec. 23 after losing control of his vehicle on Ky. 1178 and crashing into a semi truck, police said.
James D. Hamilton, 42, of McKinney, died in the crash, which occurred about 6 p.m. a mile east of McKinney. He was pronounced dead at the scene by Lincoln County Coroner Bill Demrow. He was not wearing a seat belt.
According to Kentucky State Police, Hamilton was headed east in his Dodge Ram pickup when he lost control in a curve. The vehicle entered onto the grass-covered shoulder and Hamilton overcorrected when trying to return to the roadway. Hamilton's truck slid across the
center line and was struck by an oncoming Kenworth driven by Robert E. Snow, 36, of Hustonville. Snow sustained no injuries.
