County to hold blood drive

January 12, 2006

Thousands of hospital patients across central and eastern Kentucky need you. Be a blood donor and help improve or save the lives of your fellow Kentuckians. Make all the difference for someone by giving him or her the gift of life.

Lincoln County community asks you to please roll up your sleeve and help your fellow Kentuckians. You never know who might need blood in an emergency - you, a family member, neighbor, fellow-church goer, co-worker or a complete stranger. The blood supply belongs to all of us and must be kept at a safe level so that anyone anywhere can receive the gift of life. You could make the difference.

Donate blood at the Lincoln County community blood drive Thursday, Jan. 19 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the basement of the Lincoln County Farm Bureau, 100 Ag Way, Stanford. The requirements to be a donor are simple - be at least 17 years of age, weigh at least 110 pounds and be in general good health. It only takes an hour and you can return in 56 days.

Many CKBC mobile blood drives now offer automated blood collection, which allows donors to give twice the amount of red blood cells, the most transfused product at local hospitals. Anyone wishing to schedule a donation may do so at ckbc.org. Click Schedule A Donation, then select a location, either at a donor center or the nearest mobile blood drive. You may also schedule a donation by dialing 888-775-2522.

One more thing. When you come to donate, bring a friend or family member or better yet, a first-time blood donor. Help us recruit a new generation of donors who can be life-long donors.

For more information call Loretta Robinson at 1-800-775-2522.
