Casey traffic stops lead to drug charges

LIBERTY - Four people have been arrested on illegal drug charges, police said.

Robert L. Lowe, 30, and Leslie Jean Huff, 36, both of Monticello, were charged Tuesday with first-degree possession of a controlled substance (cocaine) and pills. Lowe also was charged with driving under the influence of intoxicants.

Each was lodged in Casey County Detention Center.

Sheriff Jerry Coffman said the two were arrested on Dry Ridge Road. The alleged cocaine and pills were found in the van and in Huff's purse.

Deputy Sheriff Bob Weddle and state Trooper Mike Woodrum also are investigating.

In an unrelated incident, a couple was arrested Sunday on illegal drug and traffic charges, according to a report by Lee Smith.

Michael Wayne Foster Jr., 24, of 3852 Wilson Ridge Road, and Greta L. Foster (Godbey) 20, of 428 Iven Godbey Road, were arrested at Whipp Avenue and Allen Street after an alleged altercation.

Greta Foster was arrested for first offense driving under the influence of drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, third-degree possession of a controlled substance scheduled IV (Diazepam); third-degree possession of a controlled substance Schedule IV (Alprazolam).

Foster faces charges of second offense DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Each posted a $1,000 bond and were released from custody. They are scheduled to appear in Casey District Court 9 a.m. March 16.

Deputy Sheriff Freeman Luttrell assisted with the arrest.
