Betty Singleton Estes

Betty Singleton Estes, 79, of Miller Ave., died Sunday, March 5 at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.

A native of Boyle Co., she was born Sept. 10, 1926 to the late Clarence E. Singleton and Josephine Matheny Pence. She was a homemaker and a member of Drakes Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband, Shipton Estes; three daughters, Beth Estes and Sue Estes (Robert) Ballard both of Lancaster and Jomin Estes (Stephen) Davis of Danville; one sister, Wilma Jo Pence of Lancaster; and one grandchild, Adam Graham of Lancaster.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 8 at the Spurlin Funeral Home in Lancaster with Bro. Bob Rush officiating. Burial was in Camp Nelson National Cemetery.

Active pallbearers were E. J. Hasty, Anthony Saylor, Herman Vickers, Teddy Lewis, Bill Rhodes, and James Thomas Rankin. Honorary pallbearers were Carolyn Rankin, Vivian Vickers, Doris Spurlin, Linda Hasty, Lisa Lewis, Debbie Saylor, Doan Adkins, and Janice Fain.

Memorials preferred to Drakes Creek Baptist Church Building Fund.

Spurlin Funeral Home of Lancaster was in charge of the arrangements.
