4-H Clover Corner: Three new clubs to begin next week

April 05, 2006|KIM RAGLAND

Exciting new things are happening next week as we begin our annual Electricity Project and two new clubs!

With the help of the great folks at Inter-County Energy, 4-H'ers in the Electricity Project will learn how to safely use and work around electricity and build their own lamps to take home. You can exhibit your lamp in Cloverville at the Boyle County Fair too!

The group meets at the Boyle County Extension Office 4 p.m Mondays, April 10, 17 and 24. There is no fee for participation. Youth need to pre-register by Friday by calling (859) 236-4484.

The new 4-H Rabbit Club will have its first meeting 6 p.m. Monday at the Boyle County Extension Office. You don't have to own a rabbit to join. Cloverbuds (ages 6-8) are welcome as long as they are accompanied by a parent. Many thanks to Adult Volunteer Leader Jerry Little, who will be teaching members how to select, feed, care for, handle and show rabbits.

This spring the club will focus on learning to quilt. Parents are encouraged to attend. Pre-register by Monday by calling (859) 236-4484.

These are just a few of the many 4-H clubs and projects in full swing this month.
