Woman charged in Ephraim McDowell hospital thefts

A Lancaster woman was arrested Thursday morning after employees of Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center reported that she was stealing purses and cell phones in the hospital.

Anna McQueary, 35, of 212 Campbell St., was charged with receiving stolen property less than $300 and theft of a credit card. She was lodged in the Boyle County Detention Center.

Assistant Danville Police Chief Tony Gray said employees reported the missing items to hospital security and mentioned McQueary as a possible subject. Security called Danville police, who obtained a search warrant for McQueary's vehicle and found a purse and cell phone that were taken earlier, Gray said.
