JUNCTION CITY - A Boyle County firefighter responding to a fire collided with a motorcycle Sunday at the intersection of Shelby Street and U.S. 127, police said.
A passenger on the motorcycle, Mrs. Randall Spears of Junction City, was taken to Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center for treatment, said Police Chief Jimmy Gipson. Randall Spears suffered minor injuries, but apparently did not seek treatment.
Gipson said Mike Belcher of Parksville was driving a pickup truck and had his red light and siren on when attempted to pass vehicles at the intersection. The Spearses are hearing-impaired and did not hear the siren or see the red lights, Gipson said.
Spears attempted to turn onto U.S. 127 North from Shelby Street and reportedly ran in to the Belcher pickup truck. Officer Doug Combs is investigating.
