Legendary race car driver Mario Andretti will be made an honorary citizen of Danville and receive a key to the city from Mayor John Bowling during his visit here Thursday.
Andretti, who has won 111 races and has been named the Driver of the Century, will be made an honorary citizen during a program at Arby's at 10:30 a.m.
Andretti will be available to sign autographs for fans at Family Tire & Auto Service at 521 S. Third St. from noon to 2 p.m. His appearance will be part of Family Tire's one-year anniversary celebration.
He will speak to students at Danville High School from 2:30-3:15 p.m. about driver and tire safety.
