April 26, 2006

HARRODSBURG - A Lexington man was arrested Friday for allegedly firing shots at road signs after he left a party at Terrapin Hill.

Kevin Goldsmith, 21, was charged with wanton endangerment, driving under the influence, criminal mischief and discharging a firearm on a public highway, Harrodsburg police said. He was taken to the Boyle County Detention Center.

According to a police report, Goldsmith had left the party about 4 a.m. and was driving along Mackville Road near the Salt River bridge when he shot at a speed limit sign with a .357-caliber pistol. The shots were fired toward Riverview Subdivision, police said.

Officers heard the shots and arrested Goldsmith as he entered town on Mackville Road.
