Fire destroyed a large dairy barn and milking parlor Sunday night at the Bobby Camenisch farm on Ky. 78 near the Stanford Drive-In.
The barn, which was more than 250 feet long, was engulfed in flames by the time firefighters arrived about 11 p.m. Approximately 55 firefighters from 10 fire departments responded but were unable to save the structure, said Lincoln Fire Chief Danny Glass.
"We were making headway, but it apparently got into the attic and we couldn't knock it down, he said.
The firefighters kept running out of air in the small attic, he said. Water was shuttled in from Main Street, Stanford, but that was not a problem, said Glass. Seven tanker trucks were at the scene.
Firefighters kept the fire from spreading to two silos and a fuel tank.
The cause of the fire is not known, however, Glass said it does not appear to be a suspicious.
