Preston Burton
Feb. 1, 2006 - April 24, 2006
Preston Wayne Burton, infant son of Joseph Clay and Crystal Michelle Crews Burton, and brother of Raileigh Burton of Hickory Hill, died April 24.
Additional survivors include maternal grandmother, Rebecca Rittenberry; paternal grandparents, Robert Joseph and Donna Sue Burton and Debra Kay LaPierre; maternal great-grandmother Della Rae Jones, paternal great-grandparents, Shirley Wright, Forest Wendell Burton and Eugina Louise Burton; uncles Brandon Burton, Bobby Lee Burton, Zack Miller and James Crews; aunts Jenny Morton, Rebecca Beasley and Camilla Crews.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Betts & West Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Newland officiating.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday.
Burial will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Bearers will be Brandon Burton and Zack Miller.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Preston Burton Memorial Fund at Citizen's National Bank.
Shirley Jones
July 24, 1923 - April 22, 2006
Shirley A. Jones, 82, widow of Claudy K. "Casey" Jones, died April 22 after a lengthy illness.
She was the daughter of Willard "Pete" Thomm and Irene Rosgard.
Survivors include a daughter and her husband, Marilyn Kay and Bill Boyd of Lancaster; two grandchildren, John D. Herrington Jr. and Jennifer Kay Herrington, both of Nicholasville; two great-grandchildren, Alisha Kay and Chase Herrington; a half brother, Charles Thomm of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews in Wisconsin.
Services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at Betts & West Funeral Home with the Rev. Zack Terry officiating.
Burial was held at Camp Nelson National Cemetery.
Bearers were John Herrington Jr., Billy Boyd, John West, Bryan Crowe, David Herrington, and H.P. "Rex" Rexroad Jr.
Paul Frederick
Feb. 28, 1956 - April 18, 2006
Paul David Frederick, 50, of Queensway, died Tuesday, April 18.
A native of Portsmouth, Ohio, he was born Feb. 28, 1956, to the late Connie David and Hazel Margaret Thompson Frederick. He was a mechanic and volunteer firefighter for the City of Nicholasville for 13 years. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing, four wheelers, camping, C.B. radio, and motorcycles.
He is survived by his brother, Robert Frederick, and numerous special friends, including Natalie and Dale Durham and Laura and Allen Johnson.
There was no visitation, and private services will be scheduled at a later date.
Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home was chosen for arrangements.

Lois Lee
June 5, 1936 - April 22, 2006
Lois Jane Lee, 69, of Briarwood Drive, died Saturday, April 22, in Ashland, Ky. after a long battle with breast cancer.
A native of Louisville, she was born, June 5, 1936, and was the daughter of Myra Long Sewell Auckerman and the late Clarence Henry Sewell. She was a retired employee of Ashland Oil, a member of Edgewood Baptist Church, and the Ashland Oil Retiree Club. She enjoyed spending time outdoors, and tending to her flowers.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Lois Jane and James H. Moore of Ashland, and Lisa Lynn and Rick Lowry of Lancaster; three sisters, Jeri Hugunin and her husband, Bill, of Louisiana, Phyllis Bradbury of California, and Velma Jean Jones of Ohio; a brother, Donald Sewell of Louisiana; a grandchild, Jessica Lee; and two great-grandchildren, Riley Gage and Ryan Gavin, all of Ashland.
She was preceded in death by a son, Robert E. "General" Lee.
Services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, April 25, at Edgewood Baptist Church with the Rev. Mike Greer officiating. Burial was held at Maple Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Ricky Lowry, Jim Moore, Danny Ray Lowry, Jesse Lowry, Jim Lowry, Tim Rice and Frankie Hubbard.
Honorary bearers were Margaret Mowery and Donna Simpson.
Visitation was at Hager & Cundiff Funeral Home.
