Theater
The Ragged Edge Community Theater Summer Stage
Participants will practice and present a play incorporating the elements of drama, comedy and dance on the Friday of each session. Snacks are provided daily. T-shirts are included in the registration fee.
Dates: 1-4 p.m. June 12-16 or 9 a.m. to noon June 12-23.
Registration: Noon to 2 p.m. May 20.
Age: 6 and older.
Cost: One-week workshop, $45 per child with $30 for each additional family member. Two-week workshop, $60 per child with $40 for each additional family member.

CAMPCAUSEWELOVETOACT
This is the fourth consecutive year of West T. Hill Community Theatre running a children's summer workshop. Depending on how many children register, the group may be divided into two meeting times, one early evening and one during the day.
Dates: July 16-30 with registration beginning at 10 a.m. July 15 at West's Wing.
Instructor: Beth Marlowe.
Cost: $15, which includes a camp T-shirt, supplies and refreshments. Scholarships are available.
4-H Camp
Campers will stay in cabins with adult supervision and have week full of a variety of classes, such as archery and photography, physical activities, nightly socials, dances, games and campfires.
Dates: June 15-19.
Location: J.M. Feltner Campgrounds in London.
Ages: 9-14.
Cost: $120 per person but partial scholarships are available.
Space is limited to 80 youths. Applications, along with copies of medical cards, must be turned into the Boyle County Extension Office by June 2.

Day Camps
STARS
(Success through Arts, Recreation and School)
Theme is an imaginery ride along Route 66 from Chicago to Santa Monica, Calif. Activities will relate to the geography, history and culture of the eight states along that route.
Dates: June 5-9 and June 12-16.
Times: 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Cost: $45 per week.

YMCA
Full structure of activities: arts and crafts, field trips, indoor and outdoor games, special guests, and swimming.
Dates: June 5-July 28. Register by May 19.
Location: YMCA in Harrodsburg and Centre College Boles Natatorium (for swimming sessions).
Ages: 5-12.
Cost: $85 a week per child (includes lunch, snacks and materials), $145 for two children from same family, and $200 for three children from same family. Must be YMCA members to attend. Annual membership fee is $20.

Danville-Boyle County Recreation Department
Activities include supervised play, games and swimming. Lunch is provided.
Children should be picked up at the pool no later than 3 p.m. Children who stay at the pool must be accompanied by an adult.
Dates: Beginning at 11 a.m. June 5. Continues six to eight weeks, depending on interest.
Ages: 7-12.
Cost: $3 daily.

McDowell Wellness programs
Starfish Summer Swim Lessons
Each session is broken up into levels to correspond with the child's ability.
Time: Lessons will run at 45 minutes each. Water babies sessions will run 30 minutes.
Dates: Session 1: June 5-8 and June 12-15; Session 2: June 19-22 and June 26-29; Session 3: July 3-7 and July 10-13; Session 4: July 17-20 and July 25-27.
Age: Water babies is from 6 months to 3 years of age. All other sessions are 3 on up.
Location: McDowell Wellness Center.
Cost: First class: $55 for members and $65 for non-members; second class: $50 for members and $60 for non-members; third class: $45 for members and $55 for non-members; fourth class: $40 for members and $50 for non-members; and fifth class: $35 for members and $45 for non-members.
"Summer of Mystery"
Theme this year is "Summer of Mystery" where children will engage in scavenger hunts to learn clues about activities they will do each week. Each week will focus on different themes including survival week, beach week and carnival week.
