Paws, Claws, Scales, and Tales 2006 Summer Reading Program

Sign-up begins June 1 for this year's reading club at the Harvey Helm Memorial Library. There are programs for two to twelve year olds in June and July. When you register, you will receive a bag with calendars for June and July's activities. There will be lots of activities from Bingo to movies. A final party will be held for all those completing the program. Stop by the library or ask the Bookmobile Librarian to sign-up for the reading club.

Crab Orchard Cruise-In rescheduled

Rescheduled date for car cruise-in in Crab Orchard is Saturday, June 10 at First Southern Bank parking lot on Main Street, Crab Orchard. Time 5 to 8 p.m. Door prizes. Top (5) cars. Dash plaques first 50 cars. For more information call Bill Dyehouse at 355-2213 or Victoria Dunn at 355-2971.

PBK Bank to hold cookout

PBK Bank will hold a cookout on Friday, June 2 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Hwy. 150 office. Box lunches are $5 and will include hamburger, baked beans, chips, dessert and drink.

PBK Bank car wash

PBK Bank will have a car wash at Miracle Car Wash (beside Stanford Elem. School) on Saturday, June 3. Dickie Cooper will donate half of all proceeds for the entire day to PBK Relay team.

Fort Harrod Beef Festival

Kentucky's Fort Harrod Beef Festival, Old Fort Harrod State Park and Mercer County Fairgrounds June 2 through 4. Kentucky Headhunters live in concert. Local bands and singers, steak and egg breakfast, 5K race and walk, juried arts and crafts show, beef grill-off competition and sampling, antique and classic car super cruise, cattle breeds display, children's activities, live entertainment all weekend, something for everyone. LCHS Dance Team tryouts

Selection for the Lincoln County High School Dance Team 2006-2007 season will be having team tryouts at the high school for any person entering 9th through 12th grade. A required dance clinic will be taught on Monday, June 5 and Tuesday, June 6 from 6 to 8 p.m. with tryouts being held on Wednesday, June 7 starting at 6 p.m. This team selection will be chosen by a qualified panel of judges and participants chosen must accommodate a sport physical. Making album covers

Learn how to make your own handmade album covers. This is a great technique for use for gift albums and fun albums for yourself or the kids. You will love this! Croppin' Nite Out Workshop

Friday, June 9th, 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. $5. This is a great time to get away from it all and get a little work done. Board of Adjustments to meet

There will be a Board of Adjustments hearing Thursday, June 15 at 7 p.m. at the L & N Depot to consider a set back variance for Richard Rowe on Lot 23 of Lee Drive. The public is invited to attend.

Stanford School Council to meet

The Stanford Elementary Site-Based Council will meet on Tuesday, June 6 at 5 p.m.

LC Historical Society to meet

The Lincoln County Historical Society will meet at the Historic L & N Depot at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 6. Visitors are welcome.

LC Tourism looking for pictures

The Lincoln County Tourism Committee is looking for pictures of Hustonville - Main Street, festivals and events for entire county and historic sites to be used for brochures, web site, and state fair exhibit. Prefer digital, but will consider photos. Deadline is June 2. For more information call 365-2536.
