Twelve area students graduate from Centre College

Twelve area students earned bachelor's degrees from Centre College. They were among the more than 260 members of the college's class of 2006, the largest class ever to graduate from the College. Gordon Gee, Chancellor of Vanderbilt University, gave the Commencement address.

Justin Atkins of Danville earned a degree in elementary education. He is the son of J.H. and Artie Atkins of Danville, and is a graduate of Danville High School.

Charlie Boyd of Danville earned a degree in biology. He is the son of James and Martha Boyd of Danville, and is a graduate of Boyle County High School.

Bennett Clark of Danville earned a degree in anthropology/sociology. He is the son of Merle and Emily Clark of Danville, and is a graduate of Danville High School.

Michael Douglas of Hustonville earned degrees in government and Spanish, and graduated magna cum laude. He is the son of Timothy and Marilyn Douglas, both of Hustonville, and is a graduate of Lincoln County High School.

Kindra Krill of Stanford earned a degree in biology. She is the daughter of Kinney and Rita Kaye Noe of Stanford, and is a graduate of Lincoln County High School.

Jonathan Lanham of Gravel Switch earned a degree in history. He is the son of H. Kevin and Jan Lanham of Gravel Switch, and is a graduate of Marion County High School.

Duncan Paynter of Danville earned a degree in history. He is the son of Mary Hunt of Prospect and Bruce Paynter of Danville, and is a graduate of Danville High School.

Tommy Poland of Danville earned a degree in psychology. He is the son of Tom and Bettie Poland of Danville, and is a graduate of Danville High School.

Brian Ruth of Danville earned a degree in history. He is the son of Bill and Kathy Ruth of Danville, and is a graduate of Danville High School.

Daniel Saman of Lebanon earned degrees in anthropology/sociology and philosophy. He is the son of Morees and Amal Saman of Lebanon, and is a graduate of Marion County High School.

Vanessa Shepperson of Junction City earned a degree in elementary education and received The Doris Elaine Williams Cavnes Elementary Education Prize.

Beau Wolinsky of Danville earned a degree in financial economics. He is the son of Robert Wolinsky and Carol Joan Avery of Danville, and is a graduate of Boyle County High School.
