Elvy Shuffitt

Elvy Shuffitt Jr., 74, of Lexington, formerly of Danville, died Saturday at his home.

Born Aug. 13, 1931, in Overland, Mo., he was a son of the late Elvy and Daisy Spencer Shuffitt. He was retired from supermarket retail sales, a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a Navy veteran of the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Roberta Caster Shuffitt; two sons, Larry Shuffitt of Mansfield, Texas, and Danny Shuffitt of Arlington, Texas; a daughter, Terry Crowley of Versailles; a brother, Dan Shuffitt of Anderson, Ind.; a sister, Kathleen Ferguson of Arlington, Texas; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 9 a.m. Tuesday at Camp Nelson National Cemetery by the Revs. Rodney Lynch and Doug Wesley.

Pallbearers will be Roy Sparks, J.D. Westerfield, Monty Wilkerson, Edward Crowley, Larry Shuffitt and Danny Shuffitt.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. today at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home.

Lela W. Terrell


Lela Wheeler Terrell, 87, formerly of Danville, died Sunday in Alabama. She was the widow of Harry B. Terrell Jr. Arrangements are incomplete at Stith Funeral Home.

William Bradley

LANCASTER - William Bradley, 82, of Kennedy Bridge Road, died Sunday at Veterans Administration Medical Center. He was the widower of Marjorie Bradley. Arrangements are incomplete at Spurlin Funeral Home.

Brenda Napier

STANFORD - Brenda Napier, 59, wife of Bill Napier, died Sunday at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center. Arrangements are incomplete at Spurlin Funeral Home.

Margie Taylor

HARRODSBURG - Margie Taylor, 72, of Harrodsburg, widow of Buford C. Taylor, died Sunday at Saint Joseph Hospital, Lexington.

Survivors include two daughters, Sandy Murphy and Terri Williams; and a son, David Taylor, all of Harrodsburg.

Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ransdell Funeral Chapel.

Visitation is after 5 p.m. today.


Charlotte F. Cox

Services for Charlotte Florence Boyd Cox, 62, of Miles Drive, Lancaster, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home the Rev. Sally Dishman. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

She died Friday at Fort Logan Hospital.

Born May 15, 1944, in Boyle County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Martha Wood Boyd. She was a homemaker and attended Miracle Temple and The House of Prayer.

Survivors include her husband, George Lee Cox of Lancaster; two daughters, Angela Cox and Rachel Lear, both of Stanford; two sons, George Lynn Cox of Parksville and Matthew Lee Cox of Danville; a sister, Peggy Boyd of Texas; a brother, Brent Boyd of Lawrenceburg; and 18 grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Dawes, Donnie Lear, Donnie Privett, Robert Tate, Barry Ragland and Jimmy Walls.

Visitation will be after 5 p.m. today.

Edna M. Lister

Services for Edna Marie Coffman Lister, 93, formerly of Mason Avenue, were today at Stith Funeral Home by the Rev. Tommy Valentine. Burial was in Shawnee Run Baptist Church Cemetery.

She died Friday at Danville Centre for Health and Rehabilitation.

Pallbearers were Tony Lister, Larry Cox, Everett Lister, Robin Cox, Ashton Cox, Fred Smith and Gregg Frondal. Honorary pallbearers are Ruth Snow, Norma Phillips, Janice Runyon, Charles Lister, Joyce Houser, Ruby Yankey and Kathleen Crain.
