Lincoln County Fair Adult Talent Show

The Lincoln County Fair Adult Talent Show will be held Friday, July 7 at 9:00 p.m. This competition is for anyone ages 22 or older. Cash prizes will be awarded. For registration information please call Stacy Story at 365-8688, Mary Ann May at 365-9607 or Kerry Jones at 365-9267.

Lincoln County Fair Talent Show

The Lincoln County Fair Talent Show will be held Friday, July 7 at 7:00 p.m. Division I will be for ages 6-12. Division II will be for ages 13-21. The first five places will go on to compete at the Kentucky State Fair. Cash prizes will be awarded in both divisions. Stanford Site-Based Council to meet

The Stanford Elementary Site-Based Council has called a special meeting for Wednesday, June 21 at 3:00 p.m. in the school conference room.

Heritage Quilt Show

The second annual Heritage Quilt Show will be presented Saturday, July 15, 2006, at the Stanford Presbyterian Church. The show will feature antique, as well as modern, quilts created by residents of Lincoln County. Many of the quilts displayed last year will be on view again this year. Prizes will not be awarded this year, however, everyone who attends will have the opportunity to vote for what they consider the "best of show". Everyone is encouraged to enter their family heirloom or personal creation. Quilts must be entered on Friday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Stanford Presbyterian Church on East Main Street. Tourism Committee seeks volunteers

The Lincoln County Tourism Committee will have a booth to showcase our county at the Lincoln County Fair. The dates are July 3-8. We are looking for volunteers to staff our booth each night. Volunteers will be provided admission tickets and information to assist them in staffing the booth from 6:00 til 10:00 each night. If you would like to volunteer to staff our booth or need more information, please contact Luzia Foster 365-2536 or 365-2883. The deadline is June 25.

Miss Pre-Teen and Miss Teen Pagents

Lincoln County Pre-Teen and Teen pageants are Tuesday July 3. The Pre-Teen pageant is for Lincoln County girls 8 to 12 years of age and the Teen pageant is for Lincoln County girls 13 to 16 years of age. Applications can be picked up at the Lincoln County Extension office and for information call 606-365-0179.

LCMS Site-Based Council

The Site-Based Council of Lincoln County Middle School will be meeting on Tuesday, June 20 at 3:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in the media center.

Lunch Break Session

Lunch Break Session - featuring Lincoln County Agricultural Food Products - June 20, 2006. Downtown on Main Street in front of the Courthouse. The program will last from 12:15 to 1:00 p.m. and will feature the Lincoln County Cattlemens' Association, the Lincoln County Goat Association, and possibly other groups who are still being contacted. Participants will taste the different foods and will gather educational information about each. This is a chance for you to experience uncommon foods and to learn more about what's happening in your county. We hope that you will participate. Please let us know by June 16th if you plan to attend by calling 365-2447. This program is being brought to you as a joint effort of the Lincoln County Extension Office and the various participating groups.

Boyle County High 1976 Class Reunion

The Boyle County High School Class of 1972 through 1976 is planning its 30th year Class Reunion for Saturday, July 29. If you have not been located please contact Theresa Nield Robbins at 606-365-1264 or 859-749-3446.

Crab Orchard Cruizin

There will be a Cruizin in Crab Orchard on Friday, June 30 from 6 to 7 p.m. Dash plaques will be awarded to the top three cars. Door prizes will be given and refreshments will be available all night. For more information call Victoria Dunn at 606-355-2971 or Bill Dyehouse at 606-355-2213.

Crab Orchard Street Dance

The City of Crab Orchard will host a street dance on Friday, June 30 from 6 to 10 p.m., featuring The Jasper Family DJ and a dunking booth will local candidates. There will be Hoola Hoop, Bubble Blowing, Twist and Water Balloon Toss contests. Door prizes will be awarded.

Civil War Encampment

The City of Crab Orchard will host a Civil War Encampment on Saturday, July 1.

Neighborhood Watch sponsors program

The Crab Orchard Neighborhood Watch will be sponsoring the Eddy Hopkins and Son band along with a Wo-Man Contest at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 29 at the Crab Orchard Veterans Park. Admission is $2. Anyone interested in participating in the Wo-Man contest may call 606-355-2289 or 606-355-7553. Bring your own lawn chair.
