Casey woman faces assault charge

LIBERTY - Robin Calhoun, 37, of 1101 Pee Dee Creek, was charged Saturday with fourth-degree assault for allegedly causing injury to another person.

Casey Deputy Sheriff Chad Weddle arrested Calhoun after she allegedly got into a fight with Shannon Calhoun and struck him in the eye. Her bond is $250.

Three charged after alleged assault

LIBERTY - Police have charged three people after they reportedly hit a man in the head with a baseball bat and/or log chain, according to a report by Deputy Sheriff Bob Weddle.

Jeffrey McQueary, 32; Darrell McQueary and Darrell McQueary Jr., 23, all of 1435 Dry Ridge Road, Liberty, each were charged Monday with first-degree assault.

They allegedly used a deadly weapon to cause serious injuries to Michael L. Brown, of 91 Ellison Road, who was hospitalized. An aluminum baseball bat and/or log chain were used and a chain saw also was involved in the alleged incident, said Weddle. Each is under a $10,000 cash or property bond.

Truck turns in front of motorcycle

LIBERTY - A Casey County man suffered injuries Tuesday afternoon when his motorcycle collided with a truck on Ky. 70 East, Sheriff Jerry Coffman said.

Michael Pike, 53, of 9892 E. Ky. 70, was taken to the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center for treatment.

A witness said a truck driven by Louis R. Mason, 41, 12385 Ky. 1247 in Waynesburg, turned in front of the Harley Davidson motorcycle, then ran over the cycle.

The truck was owned by Burkmann Mills in Danville.
