Linda D. Merriman

JUNCTION CITY - Linda Deaton Merriman, 70, of Grafton Street, Junction City, died Friday at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington.

Born Aug. 11, 1935, in Jackson, she was the daughter of the late William and Clotilde Malidix Deaton. She was a housewife.

Survivors include her husband, Gerald L. Merriman; five daughters, Candace Warren of Middletown, Ohio, Jean Jacobsen of Hamilton, Ohio, Theresa Josefowicz of Oaklawn, Ill., Diane Smith of Dewagiac, Mich., and Mary Joyce of Chicago Ridge, Ill.; four sons, Gerald Merriman Jr. of Oaklawn, Gregory Merriman of Lake Havasu, Ariz., Daniel Jacobsen of Marion, Ohio, and Bill Lansdale of Middletown; a sister, Susie Dunn of Middletown; three brothers, Lewis Deaton and Blain Deaton, both of Trenton, Ohio, and John Deaton of West Elton, Ohio; 25 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Robin Dunn.

Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Stith Funeral Home and Family Center of Junction City.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Tuesday.

Memorials may go to Make-A-Wish Foundation or American Heart Association.

Funerals

J.C. Talley

Services for James "J.C." Talley, 78, of Burton Circle, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by Everett Priddy and Gary Story. Burial will be in Bellevue Cemetery.

He died Friday at his home.

Born Aug. 14, 1927, in Mt. Vernon, he was the son of the late Joseph Dabney and Lucy Gadd Talley. He was a World War II veteran, retired truck driver and former volunteer for Danville-Boyle County Rescue Squad. He was a member of Hyattsville Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Christine Lamb Talley; a son, Jim D. Talley of Danville; three daughters, Debbie Morgan of Richmond, Linda J. Bourne of Danville and Jennifer. T. Brown of Fort Campbell; a brother, James F. Talley of Lancaster; four grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Pallbearers will be Matt East, Adam Cook, Troy and James Teague, Mark and Randy Talley, and Joseph Bourne.

Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Hendrickson and staff of McDowell Home, and Heritage Hospice and staff.

Visitation is 5-9 p.m. today.

Memorials may go to Heritage Hospice.
