Mercer grand jury indicts six

HARRODSBURG - A Mercer County grand jury indicted a Burgin man for allegedly having sex with a girl under the age of 12.

Anthony James Grimes, 33, of 115 N. High St., was charged with three counts of first-degree sodomy and three counts of first-degree sexual abuse for allegedly engaging in sexual conduct with the juvenile in March and April.

Bond was set at $200,000. Mercer Deputy Paul Parks testified before the grand jury.

The grand jury also indicted a Harrodsburg man in connection with burglaries and theft at several area establishments.

Terry Morgan Dunn, 31, of 720 Cane Run, was indicted on eight counts each of burglary and theft for allegedly breaking into eight establishments and taking items in April and May of this year.

According to the indictment, Dunn burglarized Lister Tires, Star Woodworkiing, Advanced Products and Service, Comprehensive Care Center, YMCA of Harrodsburg, St. Peter African Methodist Church, Harrodsburg High School and Burgin Christian Church.

Bond was set at $50,000. Lynn Davis and Jim Caldwell testified.

Others indicted are listed below by name, age, address and charge.

* Clark Sims, 42, of 409 Meadowbrook Drive, first-degree bail jumping for allegedly failing to appear in court on June 20. Bond was set at $10,000. Commonwealth's Detective Cindy Corcoran testified.

* Angela Cornish, 28, 447 West Lane Ave., first-degree bail jumping for allegedly failing to appear in court on June 20th. Bond was set at $10,000. Corcoran testified.

* Randall Ray Sharp, 43, of 644 Belmont St., distribution of matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor for allegedly having such material and distributing it in February and May. A summons was issued. Harrodsburg Officer Scott Elder testified.

* Travis W. Butler, 25, of 165 Eminence Ave., two counts of first-degree wanton endangerment, fourth-degree assault, disorderly conduct and terroristic threatening for allegedly going after Daniel Patrick and a male child on May 28. A summons was issued. Harrodsburg Officer Tim Gambrel testified.
