Kentucky State Police are asking for the public's help in an arson investigation being conducted on a fire that occurred in June in rural Jessamine County.

Kentucky State Trooper Kevin Dunn, who is heading up the investigation, said that so far, he has no leads in the case, and hopes that if someone saw anything unusual in the area of the fire that night they will call KSP's Arson Hotline.

The fire destroyed a $780,000 home at 104 Deerfield Circle near Barkley Woods on June 16.

The home was under construction, and just needed some finishing touches, Dunn said. The home would have been the residence of Chuck Withers.

Dunn said Withers has no idea who could have wanted to torch his home, and so far investigators are without a suspect or any leads.

Jessamine County Fire Chief Mike Rupard said that the call from a neighbor came in at about 3 a.m.

"He (the neighbor) said that the fire was through the roof when he called," Rupard said.

Rupard added that no one was at the home when firefighters arrived, and no one was injured.

Dunn said people can call the Kentucky Arson Taskforce Hotline at 1-800-27-ARSON, 24 hours a day. Callers may remain anonymous.

In addition, he said, a $1,000 reward will go to anyone providing information leading to an arrest and indictment in the incident.
