Meeting concerning Kings Mountain School
There will be a meeting held on Aug. 31 at 6:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Courthouse in the upstairs courtroom for all interested citizens in the forming of the Kings Mountain Community Committee. Rankin reunion
The Rankin family reunion will be held Sunday, Aug. 27 at the William Whitley House. A potluck meal will be served at 12:30. Table service will be furnished. All relatives and friends are invited.
Blooming Nine Patch Quilting Workshop
Blooming Nine Patch Quilting Workshop offered by the Lincoln County Extension Office, Saturday, Aug. 26 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Lincoln County Extension Office meeting room. Cost is $20 per person plus equipment, supplies, and fabric. Instructor: Denise Stewart. You must register at the Extension Office and pay the class fee prior to class time. Class fees are non-refundable, but transferable. A supply list is available at the Extension Office. We also have on display a completed quilt top that you may see. This workshop is open to the general public. Fee is due by August 23. Class size is limited; so, register early. Veterans Assistance officer to be in Stanford
A Veterans Assistance officer for the Kentucky Department of Veterans Affairs will be at the Lincoln County Courthouse Annex on Thursday, Aug. 24. from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Veterans and their families will be provided counseling and assistance in filing claims for state and federal benefits. There is no fee of any kind. Crab Orchard Red Hat Ladies to meet
The Crab Orchard Red Hat Ladies will meet Friday, Aug. 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Food Lion in Stanford to carpool to the Pioneer Playhouse in Danville for their monthly outing.
LCHS council meeting
The Lincoln County High School Site-Based Council will meet the fourth Tuesday of every month at 4:30 p.m. in the library.
FREE Arthritis Class
The Lincoln County Health Department will be offering a FREE six week Arthritis Self-Help course to anyone living or working in Lincoln County. The class includes: group support, nutrition advice, and exercise tips. Each person that signs-up will receive an Arthritis self-help book from the Arthritis Foundation and the first 10 people will receive a FREE water bottle and a FREE exercise band grip handle. Class begins Sept. 1, 11:30 to 12:30 p.m. at the health department. Registration required by calling Lee Ann Taylor at the Lincoln County Health Department at 606-365-3106.
Wellness Program offered
The Lincoln County Extension Office and the Lincoln County Health Department are partnering to offer: 'Weight, The Realty Series', a nutrition and physical activity program for anyone living or working in Lincoln County. The program will consist of a nutrition portion and a work-out session at each meeting. Registration is $15, with a $10 refund at the end of the program if you reach your goal. A door prize drawing will take place at the end of the program. The program is eight weeks in length and begins Sept. 18, 4:30 p.m. Christian Life Center. Democrat Ladies to meet
The Democrat Ladies will meet Monday, Aug. 28 at the Kentucky Depot Restaurant at 6:30 p.m. Guest speakers will be Barbara Hecker and Sue Turner. Everyone invited.
