Auction Sale for Winterfest Toys
There will be an Auction Sale on Saturday, Aug. 19 from 12 noon to 5 p.m. at Lincoln County Fairgrounds for the Winterfest Toys for Kids. Modern Woodsmen of America will match all proceeds made. LC Blood Drive
The Lincoln County community will hold a blood drive on Thursday, Aug. 17 from noon until 7 p.m. in the basement of Lincoln County Farm Bureau, 100 Ag Way in Stanford. Photo ID is now required of all donors. Register to win Fly Me to Orlando (2 roundtrip tickets, 2 nights at Crowne Plaza Universal Hotel, and 2 passes to Universal Studios). There will also be 3 sets of (2) tickets to Dollywood given away.
New Women's Chorus auditions
A new Women's Chorus under the direction of Barbara Hall, director of Choral Ensembles at Centre College and the Danville Summer Singers, will begin rehearsals this fall on Thursday evenings from 7 to 9 p.m., with a concert in late November or early December. Auditions for this group will be on two Saturdays: August 19 or 26. Rehearsals and auditions will be in room 114 of Grant Hall in the Norton Center for the Arts on the Centre College campus. A prepared solo is not necessary but singing a favorite hymn or folk song would be helpful. The audition should not take more than 15 minutes. Women age 15 and older are eligible. Annual Selby Reunion
All Selbys, Selbys by marriage or descendants are invited to the 28th Annual Selby reunion on Sunday, Sept. 3 at the Russell Co. Sportsman/Deer Club. Turn at Hwy. 127 and 619 beside Arby's restaurant in Russell Springs. Travel approximately 1 1/8 mile and turn right at Russell County Deer Club sign. Note: Direction signs will be present. Bring enough food for your family. Drinks and table service will be furnished. Lunch served at 12:30 cst. Come early for fellowship. Entertainment provided.
