The Crab Orchard Farmers' Market will be held on Tuesday and Saturday from 8 a.m. until sell out at First National Bank on Main Street. Produce, canned goods, baked goods and plants. Volunteers needed to work State Fair

The Lincoln County Tourism will be having a display booth at the Kentucky State Fair Aug. 17-27. Volunteers are needed to set up the booth and be present during the fair days to showcase our county's history, recreation and economic venues to thousands of fair visitors. Volunteers will receive free admission tickets and parking. Since this is a 10 day event, we will need 30-35 volunteers. Logan's Fort Foundation meeting

The annual meeting of the Logan's Fort Foundation, Inc., will be held Tuesday, Aug. 22 at 6:30 p.m. at the historic L & N Depot.

Lincoln County Schools Volunteer Training

All individuals who wish to volunteer for the 2006 - 2007 school year must complete the process annually, including: obtain volunteer training, submit a volunteer application, and have an approved criminal background check on file. This process must be completed prior to serving as a volunteer at any Lincoln County School, in any volunteer capacity, including field trips. Parents and community members may attend any of the trainings. Contact the Lincoln County Board of Education Central Office, 305 Danville Ave., Stanford for the dates, times and locations of all trainings, (606) 365-2124.

Stanford Cruise-In dates set

The Stanford Cruise Ins will be held in downtown Stanford on the following dates: Aug. 18, Sept. 15, and Oct. 20. The October cruise-in will consist of the Stanford Fire Department Christmas for Kids Toy Drive and Trunk or Treat. Kids are invited to dress up and trick or treat from the trunks of cruisers. Hustonville Site-Based Council Meetings

Hustonville Elementary Site-Based Decision Making Council meetings will be held at 3:30 p.m. in the school library on the following dates: Sept. 7, Oct. 12, Nov. 2, Dec. 7, Jan. 4, Feb. 1, March 1, April 12, May 3, June 7, and July 5.

Broughtontown Community pool room open

Broughtontown Community Center pool room (free) is open from 7 to 8 p.m. on Tuesdays.

H.E.A.L. meetings set

Weekly H.E.A.L. (Helping Ease A Loss) meetings will be offered for all persons who have suffered a personal loss, whether served by Heritage Hospice or not. Meetings will be held at Heritage Hospice, 337 West Broadway, Danville. Call 859-236-2424 for additional information. Weekly meetings are offered at Hospice living room on October 2, 9, 16, 23 at 6:30 p.m. A second support group meets at Heritage Hospice, 337 West Broadway, Danville, on the following dates: July 27, Aug. 24, Sept. 28, Oct. 19, Nov. 16, and Dec. 14 at 6:30 p.m.

NAMI Support Group

There will be a NAMI Support Group for Lincoln and Garrard County every third Tuesday at 5 p.m. at 322 Frontier Road, Stanford.

Free Maps available at the Chamber office

The Chamber of Commerce has free maps available of Lincoln County if anyone needs one, please stop by the Buzz Walker building, 201 E. Main Street, Stanford.

New Kids Homemakers to meet

New Kids Homemaker Club will meet every 4th Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. at the Lincoln County Extension Office. New members are welcome.

CO Weight Loss Support Group

The Crab Orchard Weight Loss Support Group meets Fridays at 4 p.m. in the Crab Orchard Elementary Family Connections Resource Center (behind school). For more information contact Diana Messer at 355-2129. Everyone is welcome. Free!

City of Crab Orchard regular meetings

City of Crab Orchard regular monthly meetings are the first Thursday of every month at 6:30 p.m. at the Crab Orchard City Hall.

Alzheimer's support group meetings

The Alzheimer's Association support group will meet at Ephraim McDowell Medical Center, in the Southtown Center, on the 2nd Sunday of each month at 2 p.m. The setting is a small discussion group with an emphasis on sharing feelings, thoughts, and experiences.

Harvey Helm Memorial Library Hours

Hours for the Harvey Helm Memorial Library are: Monday, Wednesday, Friday - 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; Tuesday and Thursday - 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturday - 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Stanford EMS Board of Directors

The Stanford EMS Board of Directors meets the 2nd Monday of each month at 9:00 at squad building.
