The Methodist Women from the Harrodsburg United Methodist Church are sponsoring a six-year nursing scholarship for a Peru student, Andrea Candelario Escobedo. A group from the church went on a two-week mission trip to Peru in October 2005.
Two women who went on the trip are members of the Methodist Women. They met Escobedo in Chimbote, Peru.
A recent yard/craft/bake sale the church held on Aug. 4-5 raised funds for this scholarship. The Methodist Women appreciate the community's support in this endeavor.
