Motorcycle Crash

A motorcycle crash left a man dead early this morning after he attempted to flee from police.According to the Clark County Sheriff's Office, Deputy Brad Myers attempted to stop a motorcyclist because the vehicle's headlights were not illuminated. The driver pulled over at Redwing Drive and the Bypass, but took off at a high speed and headed toward the Interstate at exit 94, causing other officers to join the pursuit.

While merging onto the interstate, the driver went through a barricade and almost struck two police cruisers and a civilian vehicle.

The motorcyclist, who was driving a 1996 Harley Davidson, continued to run from police and attempted to merge onto the Mountain Parkway at exit 96, struck the guardrail, lost control of the vehicle and hit a rock embankment.

The motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The name is not being released pending notification of the family.
