Virgil A. Wilkerson
MORGANTOWN, Ind. - Virgil A. Wilkerson, 79, of Brown County, Ind., died Thursday at his home.
Born Jan. 15, 1927, in Boyle County, he was a son of the late James I. and Nannie Belle Lawhorn Wilkerson. He was an employee of General Motors Truck and Bus Plant in Indianapolis, retiring after 33 years of service. He was a member of United Auto Workers Union Local 933. He served in the Army during World War II and was the widower of Noretta D. Childs Wilkerson.
Survivors include four sons, Ronald L. Wilkerson and John D. Wilkerson, both of Indianapolis, Virgil Glenn Wilkerson of Morgantown and Ray N. Wilkerson of Nineveh, Ind.; three brothers, Raymond Wilkerson of Danville, Fred Wilkerson of Garland, Texas, and Bob Wilkerson of Richardson, Texas; six sisters, Lucy Meeks of Greenwood, Ind., Bertha Wren and Frances Southerland, both of Danville, Grace Wren of Lancaster, Ruth Thompson of Richardson, Texas, and Betty Hiter of Hustonville; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Meredith-Clark Funeral Home. Burial will be in East Hill Cemetery with military rites.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday.

David Reed
Services for David Reed, 69, of West Mason Avenue, will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home by the Rev. Ernest Martin. Burial will be in Danville Memorial Gardens.
He died Wednesday at Central Baptist Hospital.
Born Nov. 27, 1936, in Winchester, he was a son of the late James and Audrey Tipton Reed. He was a retired manager for South Central Bell Telephone Co., an Army veteran, a member of Telephone Pioneers Club and Calvary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Phyllis Wilson Reed; three sons, William R. Reed of Herndon, Va., David A. Reed of Danville and James D. Reed of Lily; a daughter, Leasa Reed Akin of Stanford; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Jim Fitzpatrick, Bill Rulon, Dale Roland, Joseph Neel, Bill Singler, Gary Barkman, Jerry Feathers and Jack Patty.
Honorary pallbearers are member of Telephone Pioneers and Danville Model Railroad Club.
Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today.
