Casey approves bricks for school

LIBERTY - The Casey County Board of Education agreed Thursday night to use red brick and split-face block on the exterior of the new Walnut Hill Elementary School under construction on U.S. 127 South.

Kay Sellers, board secretary, said the board will view a sample of the brick and block wall prior to the Sept. 11 board meeting.

The board also approved a non-resident contact with Danville Independent Board of Education; and delayed action on a new roof at the middle school until it looks at samples at the next meeting.

Boyle County Board of Education - 5 p.m. Tuesday for a tax rate hearing and called meeting in the high school library. The board will consider a tax rate, approve fundraisers and field trips.
