New pastor
Hustonville Baptist Church - Jonothan Grizzelle is the new pastor. He has attended Clear Creek Bible College for 2 1/2 years. He has worked at Farmers National Bank in information technology for seven years, and was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church for 11 years. He and his wife, Monica, have two daughters, Allie and Mya, and are expecting a third child.
Guest speakers
First Christian Church - 7-8:30 p.m. Thursday for a program on "Understanding Africa: What We Need to Know To Help."
Two experts on African issues will speak and answer questions. Karen A. Mingst is a professor at the University of Kentucky's Patterson School of Diplomacy and International Commerce and a former chair of the university's political science department. She has taught upper-level courses at UK on the politics of sub-Saharan Africa. Sakah S. Mahmud is a native of Nigeria and an associate professor of political science at Transylvania University, where he teaches African politics as well as a course on globalization and civic responsibilities. His wife is on the faculty at Centre College.
