September 08, 2006

The Boyle County boys defeated Marion County and Danville in a three-team match Thursday at Old Bridge Golf Club.

Cody Pollard shot 1-under-par 35 to lead the Rebels to a five-stroke win over second-place Marion.

"He has been playing really well in the last week or so," Boyle coach Mark Kendrick said. "I was thrilled with the victory tonight. Our team played really well."

Boyle's team score of 156 was its second-lowest of the season.

Tanner Burks led Danville with a 38.

Mercer County 161, Madison Southern 170, Garrard County 173 - At Stanford, Nick Patterson and Nick Souder each fired 39s to lead the Titans (16-2) over Garrard and Madison Southern at Dix River Country Club.

"A win's a win, but our inability to find consistency day in and day out is starting to become troublesome," Mercer coach Jay Anderson said. "With the caliber of team we have, there's no excuse to have a 10-, 11-, 12- or 13-stroke fluctuation from one match to the next.
