Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 25 at the Summit Church of Christ in Cold Spring.
Graveside services were held Tuesday, Sept. 26 at Bethel Church of Christ in Crab Orchard.
McKnight Funeral Home of Crab Orchard was in charge of the arrangements.
Hazel Brummett Bryant
Hazel Brummett Bryant, 85, of Mt. Vernon, died Friday, Sept. 22 at her home.
A native of Brodhead, she was born March 20, 1921 to the late John and Ida Brock Brummett. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a member of Faith Independent Church in Berea, and the widow of William Henry Bryant.
She was also preceded in death by four brothers, Bill, Lewis, Henry and William Worth Brummett; three sisters, Lizzie Brummett, Nora Clemons and Myma Carrington; son-in-law, Arthur Bishop; two grandchildren, Glenn Singleton and Hazel Sue Ann Downs; and three great grandchildren.
Survivors include four sons, Lester (Alene) Bryant, Wesley (Kathy) Bryant, David (Sherry) Bryant all of Crab Orchard and Lesley (Pat) Bryant of Richmond; five daughters, Arlene (Milton) Irvin and Kathleen (Wilburn) Denny both of Brodhead, and Irene Bishop, Wilmaleen (William) Singleton, and Sheila (Wayne) Downs all of Mt. Vernon; 44 grandchildren; 117 great grandchildren; and nine great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Sept. 24 at the McKnight Funeral Home in Crab Orchard with Tim McClure and Jerry Denny officiating. Burial was in Negro Creek Cemetery in Brodhead.
Active pallbearers were Mitchell Bishop, Wayne Downs, Jr., Brad O'Donnell, Mark Bryant, Roger Adams, and Donald Gadd.
Barbara Ann Reeves Cooper
Barbara Ann Reeves Cooper, 66, of Hustonville, died Friday, Sept. 22 at Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center in Danville.
A native of Lexington, she was born June 13, 1940 to the late Herman Lewis and Naomi Campbell Reeves. She was a homemaker, member of Hustonville Christian Church where she served as a Sunday School Teacher and was active in the Christian Women's Fellowship.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, Jimmy Cooper; three sons, David (Norene Smith) Cooper of Danville, Jeffrey (Annette Russell) Cooper of Moreland, and Mark Christopher Cooper of Louisville; and three grandchildren, Austin David, Kylie Drew, and Madison Paige Cooper.
Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 25 at Hustonville Christian Church with Bro. Don Burton officiating. Burial was the in Hustonville Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Jimmy, David, Jeffrey, and Mark Cooper, Scotty Robinson, Paul Hackney, Allen Goggin and Don Warner. Honorary pallbearers were Gene Bell, Ray Campbell, Gracie Gilbert, the women of the CWF, and her grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hustonville Christian Church Building Fund.
Iliene Maybrier Harrod
Iliene Maybrier Harrod, 85, of Lawrenceburg, formerly of Stanford, died Friday, Sept. 22 at the Frankfort Regional Medical Center.
A native of Lexington, she was born July 23, 1921 to the late Harry and Ruth Vanhook Maybrier. She was a housewife, foster mother, operator of a day care center, member of Fairview Baptist Church, Sunday School teacher for 56 years, and widow of Herman D. Harrod.
Survivors include five sons, Herman D. Harrod, Jr. of Boise, ID., Richard Douglas Harrod of Oregon, Henry Daniel Harrod of Lawrenceburg, and Harvey Darwin Harrod and Houston Dexter Harrod both of California; one step daughter, Jean Rogers of Frankfort; five brothers, Walter Maybrier and Charles Maybrier both of Somerset, Douglas Maybrier of Vasile, LA., and Ted and Bill Maybrier both of Stanford; three sisters, Ida Pullen of Frankfort, Mary Wolfe of Stanford and Margaret Freeman of Florida; 12 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held today (Thursday, Sept. 28) from 4 to 9 p.m. at the Spurlin Funeral Home in Stanford.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 29 at 2 p.m. at the Spurlin Funeral Home with Rev. Gary King officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery.
Active pallbearers are Doug, Dan, Darwin, Dexter, Timothy, and Christopher Harrod. Honorary pallbearers are Jeff and Chester Wolfe.
Jeffrey Thomas Johnson
Jeffrey Thomas Johnson, 47, of Moreland, died Thursday, Sept. 21 at his residence.
A native of Chicago, IL., he was born June 22, 1959 to John M. and Betty Walker Johnson of Glasgow. He was a color technician at R.R. Donley in Danville.
