Nancy Helen Booth Ritchie, 74, of Headquarters and wife of Randall Ritchie for 60 years, died Saturday at the Hospice Care Center in Lexington.

A native of Nicholas County, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Christine Myers Booth of Carlisle. She retired from Cleveland Twist Drill in 1990 and was a longtime member of the Headquarters United Methodist Church.

Other survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Dave Johnson, Nicholasville; three sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Georgia Ritchie of Macon, Ga.; Tony and Denice Ritchie of Cynthiana and Mark and Cindy Ritchie of Headquarters; eight grandchildren, Christi Smart, Justin, Austin and Nathan Ritchie, Eric Fryman, Nikie True, Derrick and Matthew Dye, a great grandson, Giuseppe Ritchie; and a brother, Kenneth J. Booth of Murphy, N.C.


In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Thomas Booth.

Services were conducted at 2 p.m. today at Ware Funeral Home, Cynthiana, by the Rev. Brenda Routt and the Rev. Wayne Spivey. Burial was in the Battle Grove Cemetery.

Sally Marie Jefferies Shifflett, 80, widow of James Wayne Shifflett, died Sunday at Hamburg Healthcare in Lexington.

A native of Fayette County, she was the daughter of the late William and Hilda Branch Jefferies.

Survivors include a daughter, Gail Heflin of Winchester; a son, Herbert G. Padgett Jr. of Carlisle; five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and a sister, Lila Carr of Lexington.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m Wednesday at Kerr Brothers Funeral Home on Harrodsburg Road in Lexington. Burial will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

Memorials may take the form of contributions to Hospice of the Bluegrass, 2312 Alexandria Drive, Lexington, KY 40504.


Mabel C. Winans, 81, of 609 Boone Ave., widow of James William Winans and mother of Patty Hamon of Winchester, died at 1:05 a.m. today at the Clark Regional Medical Center.

Gary W. Cline, 57, of 370 Schollsville Road, husband of Connie Pasley Cline, died at 12:59 a.m. today at his home.
