Lorraine A. Girard

NORTH ADAMS, Mass. - Lorraine Anne Girard, 73, of Amelia, Va., died Friday at her home.

Born April 10, 1933, in North Adams, Mass., she was the daughter of the late Arthur A. and Bertha Dudley Girard. She was a graduate of Northeastern University, Boston, and had been employed by the federal government in Washington, D.C., as an accountant. She was a member of St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

Survivors are two brothers, Charles A. Girard of Danville and Arthur L. Girard of Richmond, Va.

Services were held Monday at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church. Burial was in Southview Cemetery.

Memorial donations are suggested to St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 2489 Batterson Road, Powhatan, Va. 23139.

Auge-SanSoucie-Simmons Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ida W. King

Ida White King, 82, of Madison Avenue, died Tuesday at her residence. She was the widow of J.C. King. Arrangements are incomplete at Preston-Pruitt Funeral Home.

Lula Tudor

LANCASTER - Lula Tudor, 88, of Lancaster, died Tuesday at Charleston Health Care Center. She was the wife of Buford "Teaberry" Tudor. Arrangements are incomplete at Spurlin Funeral Home.

Jovita Salazar

HARRODSBURG - Jovita Salazar, 81, of Harrodsburg, died Saturday at the Ephraim McDowell Regional Medical Center.

Born July 6, 1925, in Corpus Christi, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Pete and Eloise Anthony Ramos. She was a homemaker and attended Greater Harvest Church. She was the widow of Alexandro Salazar.

Survivors include six sons, Robert Salazar of Junction City, Daniel Salazar of Springfield, Mo., Ricardo Salazar of Georgia, and Jesus Salazar, Ralph Salazar and Roger Salazar, all of Lafayette, Ind.; two daughters, Gloria Cooper of Birch Run, Mich., and Lydia Stevens of Newtown, Ind.; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Alex Salazar Jr. and Gilbert Salazar; and one daughter, Alicia Salazar.

Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at the Hippensteel Funeral Home in Lafayette, Ind., with Celebrant Carla Ellis officiating. Burial will be in the Green Bay Cemetery in Newtown, Ind.

Pallbearers will be Roger, Ralph, Jesse, Robert and Dan Salazar, and Dennis Cooper.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at Hippensteel Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions may go to the American Cancer Society.

Mirtie A. Dean

HARRODSBURG - Mirtie Adkinson Dean, 93, of Harrodsburg, died Monday at the James B. Haggin Memorial Hospital.

Born Aug. 10, 1913, in Cornishville, she was the daughter of James Cornelius and Ida Sandra Hellard Adkinson. She was the widow of James Creath Dean, She had been employed by Brody's Coat Factory, Northern Illinois University, Spurgeon's Clothing, Chapel Hill Golf Club and Russell's Greenhouse. A member of Fellowship Baptist Church, she was past president of the Haggin Red Hat Society.

Survivors include three daughters, Darlene Wiggins of DeKalb, Ill., Jackie Rains of Canton, Ga., and Sandra Russell of Harrodsburg; one sister, Rosalyn Wilson of Harrodsburg; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and her caregiver, Pearl Chambers.

She was preceded in death by two grandchildren, Jerri Lynn Wiggins and Robert Andrew Wiggins.

Services will be 2 p.m. Friday at the Alexander & Royalty Funeral Home by Troy Young. Burial will be in the Spring Hill Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Andrew Rains, Jeremy, Shane and Clint Russell, Leo Lay and Bobby Catlett. Honorary pallbearers are Ruby Raley, Patsy Dean, Josephine Bugg, Ruby Tackett, Judy Sanders and Rosalee Drury.

Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Thursday and after 7 a.m. Friday.

Billy D. Sanders

HARRODSBURG - Services for Billy Dean Sanders, 73, of Greenbriar Drive, will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Ransdell Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert DeFoor. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

He died Monday in Harrodsburg.

Born Oct. 23, 1832, he was a son of the late Russell and Vernetta Rae Springate Sanders. He was the husband of Joyce Houchins Sanders. A Navy veteran, he was retired from Corning Glass and Philips Lighting.

Additional survivors include two daughters, Virginia Helbling of Lexington and Joy Myatt of Mount Heron; one son, Jimmy Sanders of Harrodsburg; and six grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jessica Hilbling, Brendan and Dee Dee O'Hara, Adam and Justin Myatt, and Russ, Jason and Heather Sanders.

Visitation is 5-8 p.m. today and Thursday prior to the service.

Memorials may go to Mercer County Little League or Humane Society.
