Camping trips and long drives through the countryside were the order of the day this past weekend as folks tried to make the most of the oncoming autumn season.

Bro. John Dean, pastor of the Locust Grove Baptist Church, and Mrs. Dean have gone on a much needed vacation. Randy Rayborn preached Sunday morning and Douglas Rayborn Sunday night. There was a good crowd at both services.

The Kings Mountain Christian Church Fall Festival begins Sunday, Oct. 22 at 2 p.m. and continues into the evening hour with the chili cookoff contest.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Mason and children Rebecca, Emily, Daniel and Ethan have returned from a week's vacation in Florida. They visited Disney World. They enjoyed both the Magic Kingdom and the Animal Kingdom.

Mr. and Mrs. Revelle Singleton had as Sunday guests their daughter, Sandra Kay Price of Henry County.

Mrs. Flora Stull, Doris and Ron Phelps, and Peggy Padgett made a trip to Aurora, IN. to attend the Walls-Hensley Reunion. They met Bill Byrd and son Jerry and his wife at Walton. There were around 70 at the reunion.

Mrs. Nellie Phillippe made a trip to Lexington Monday to see her dermatologist.
