A listing of participatory sporting events in and around the area:

BASKETBALL

Registration open for Danville-Boyle County Parks & Recreation Department youth basketball and cheerleading at Davis Recreation Center. Basketball for boys kindergarten through high school and girls kindergarten through middle school, cheerleading for girls grades K-6. Fees $35 basketball, $40 cheerleading, $10 discount for additional family members. Call 859-238-1233.

Lincoln County K-2 Basketball Program begins practices Nov. 8 at Lincoln County High School. Kindergarten practice is 8:30-9:30 a.m.; first grade practice is 9:30-10:30 a.m.; and second grade practice is 10:30-11:30 a.m.

CYCLING

MISCELLANEOUS

Today - Ask A Trainer at Centre College Buck Fitness Center. 6-8 p.m. Participants may learn different exercises or ask questions of a personal trainer. Free to Centre faculty, staff, students and Buck center members; non-member fee $10, includes coupon for four visits to Buck center. Advance registration encouraged; participation limited. Through Nov. 4 - Registration open for indoor Wiffle Ball leagues at the Sports Zone in Lancaster. Open to all ages, males and females.
