Lincoln graduates qualify for award

STANFORD - Two recent Lincoln County High School graduates have qualified for the AP Scholar Award.

They are Amanda Harris, daughter of Clinton and Sherry Harris of Stanford, and Brian Glass, son of Dennis and Ina Glass of Stanford.

The award is given to students who complete three or more AP exams, with grades 3 or higher. The College Board's Advanced Placement Program offers students the opportunity to take challenging college-level courses while still in high school, and to receive college credit, advanced placement or both for successful performance on the AP exams.

Revival planned

Church of God of America will have a revival 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday with evangelist Terry Lewis. The church is at 449 Martin Luther King Boulevard.

Church to hold food sale

Goat and tourism projects receive funds

FRANKFORT - Two area projects were funded Friday by the Kentucky Agricultural Development Board, chaired by Gov. Ernie Fletcher.

He approved $3,179,690 in agricultural diversification projects across the state during the monthly board meeting at the Kentucky International Convention Center in Louisville.

Mercer County received $45,000 for its goat and sheep diversification program that works to assist producers as they venture into goat and sheep production.

The Southern & Eastern Kentucky Tourism Development was approved for $50,000 as part of the agri-tourism Competitive Awards Program to promote Agri-tourism ventures in their region. The organization includes Garrard, Lincoln, Casey and Boyle counties.

UK baseball coach to speak

University of Kentucky baseball coach John Cohen will be the featured speaker at the Danville-Boyle County UK Alumni Club fall meeting at 6 p.m. Nov. 2 at Inter-County Energy.
