Asbury sports

Asbury volleyball defeated Kentucky Christian Tuesday 3-2, and prior to the game, the team's lone senior, Melissa Phillips beat the all-time school record in assists, racking up 4,462 total career assists.

In women's soccer, Andrea Howell scored the game-winning goal in Asbury's 2-1 win against Spalding University on Friday to give the Lady Eagles soccer team a 3-0 record in conference play. The team (12-4-1) defeated Franklin College in Indiana Tuesday, 4-0. They head to the KIAC tournament as the number one seed in Berea this weekend.

Asbury men's soccer will honor its two seniors, Richie Menear and Drew Lesch-Wragge, today at 6 p.m. against Union College.

Eagles basketball travels to Georgetown Saturday and makes its home debut next Thursday at 6 p.m. against Freewill Baptist.

Girls golf

West Jessamine's Ashlee Rose and Betsie Johnson were selected to the girls golf all state team following the state tournament Oct. 4 where West finished second.

EJMS football

The East Jessamine Middle School 8th-grade football team had a perfect season, finishing 9-0 and outscoring their opponents 358-64. The team faces Clark County at EJHS for the Bluegrass Conference Championship today at 7:30 p.m. The 8th-grade team won the Bluegrass Championship as 6th and 7th graders, and have only lost one game in three years.
