McKINNEY - The Lincoln County fire chief says a double dose of structure fires Friday night possibly could have been the work of a Halloween prankster starting early.
Danny Glass said the McKinney department was called out to a mobile home fire about 10 p.m. on Ky. 198. No one lived in the structure, he said, and no utilities were hooked up. "The trailer was pretty much gone when we got there," Glass said.
A firefighter received a minor leg injury.
Glass said when the Moreland fire department headed out to back up the McKinney department, firefighters saw that a two-story house in front of the McKinney fire station also was on fire. "No one was living in that one either, and no utilities hooked up - same thing," he said.
"It's a possibility that the mobile home fire was set so they could get to the house in front of the station, but I'd be assuming. We don't have any leads or suspects that I know of," Glass said.
