Re: Crystal Ball

November 04, 2006

Mark A. Ebert: Congratulations! You nailed the winner and the spread of the Georgia at UK game and came pretty close on the score. Before the season started I said it would take 7-5 to prove to me that the team is improving and this win gives UK the chance to reach that record and for Brooks and his staff to prove their worth. If I could reach Brooks I would give him this advice for the next week of practice: treat your team like they lost. Treat them like they had a big 31-0 lead, got complacent and let Georgia back into the game, and lost 31-35. It's a physiological ploy that I learned from a coach that might keep the players focused for Vanderbilt. I know that the team needed this win, that the program needed this break, but now they need to beat Vanderbilt even more.

Larry: Just learn to trust my crystal ball. Seriously, great win for Kentucky and one that Rich and his team will enjoy. But he made it clear after the game that losing to Vanderbilt next week would "waste" this win.
