Basketball: "Meet the Pats" is tonight

November 16, 2006

Eleven, ten, nine, eight ....

The countdown is on for the tip off to the 2006-07 Lincoln County High School basketball season with just 11 days to go before the hardwood action begins.

Lincoln County lost nine seniors from last season, seven Lady Pats, two Patriots, leaving lots of shoes for new players to fill.

And so it's time to meet those players, as well as, the returning athletes. The time for the meeting is tonight (Thursday) at the "Meet the Patriots" celebration at LCHS.

The event, hosted annually by the LCHS Athletic Department, is held to introduce Patriot and Lady Patriot basketball fans to the basketball teams and their coaches in a non-competition atmosphere.

The evening kicks off off the court with a chili supper being served up from 5:30 to 7 p.m.

The cost of the chili supper is $5 per person and includes admission to the "Meet the Patriots" activities which will get underway at 7 p.m.

A $1 admission will be charged at the door for those wishing to attend only the "Meet the Patriots" activities.

"Meet the Patriots" activities will include the introduction of the Patriot and Lady Patriot basketball players, Patriot Coach Jeff Jackson and Lady Patriot Coach Don Story. Some on-court action will also take place with some intersquad scrimmages and shooting competitions.

The night's schedule also includes introductions of the Lincoln County Middle School basketball athletes and their coaches. The Lincoln County High School and Middle School cheerleaders and dance teams are also expected to perform, as well as, the LCHS band.
