Thanksgiving Closings

All municipal offices will be closed Thursday and Friday in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday.

City, county and state offices will observe the two-day holiday along with Winchester Municipal Utilities, the Clark County Aging Services at the Generations Center and the Clark County Extension Service.

The Clark County Health Department and the Clark County Home Health Office will be closed. However, a nurse will be on call in the event of an emergency.

Clark County Community Services will be closed Thursday, Friday and Saturday, the Clark County Public Library will be closed Wednesday and Thursday, and all schools will be closed Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.

The city's 10 financial institutions, Alliance Banking Company, BB&T bank, Central Bank, Citizens Guaranty Bank, Community Trust Bank, Kentucky Bank, National City Bank, Peoples Exchange Bank, Traditional Bank and Winchester Federal Savings Bank, will be closed Thursday.

The United States Post Office also will be closed Thursday with only express mail to be delivered.

Rumpke Service will not run Thanksgiving Day. Customers regularly served on Thursday will be collected on Saturday, and regular collection will resume the week of Nov. 27. Additional information may be obtained by calling (877) 786-7537 or visiting www.rumpke.com

The Sun's business office will remain open until 5 p.m. Wednesday with the newsroom closing earlier. The newspaper will be closed Thursday, and no paper will be published on Thanksgiving Day.

The newspaper will resume regular hours Friday.
