Dec. 6, 1981 Officers for the 1971-82 school year for the Junior Conservation Board at George Rogers Clark High School have been announced. They are Richard Estes, president; Pam Devary, vice president; Lee Kerr, secretary; Melinda Stanfield, reporter; Jack Wise, adviser; and Darren Estes, sergeant at arms.
Winchester's newest parking lot will be open Saturday for use by the general public. The lot, on East Broadway adjacent to Jordan Electric, will accommodate 50 vehicles and is being constructed on land owned by the Winchester Municipal Utilities Commission.
Eleven university students from Winchester have been named to the National Dean's List. They are Jonathan Adams, Martha Aldridge, Teresa Durbin, John Kirk, Gloria Schureman and Arnold Westlund III, University of Kentucky; Herbert Cohen, Purdue University; Julie Cope and Sandra Fritsch, Morehead State University; Marietta Lee, Eastern Kentucky University; and Mary Sharp, Western Kentucky University
The public has been invited to the dedication ceremonies of the Letcher Norton Gymnasium at the George Rogers Clark High School shortly after 1 p.m. Dec. 22, just prior to the boys' basketball game between Clark and Harrison counties.
