The Jessamine County grand jury returned multiple indictments, including a murder charge against 34-year-old Christopher Allen in connection with a fatal crash on U.S. 27 on Nov. 6. The crash claimed the life of 24-year-old Dominique Stewart of Lexington.
According to a press release from the Nicholasville Police Department, Allen lost control of his Toyota Camry and crossed the center line, causing him to collide with two other vehicles. The second vehicle was a delivery van.
Allen faces charges of murder, operating a motor vehicle under circumstances manifesting extreme indifference to human life, first-degree wanton endangerment to Aaron Roland, the driver of the delivery van, possession of drug paraphernalia - possessing a syringe intended for use in illegal controlled substance activity, and driving under the influence with aggravating circumstances - tests results were positive for cocaine.
The accident occurred around noon on Nov. 6 at the intersection of Kohl's Commerce Center and U.S. 27.
