Lincoln County (2-2) forced West Jessamine (1-2) into as many turnovers as points Friday to end a two-game losing streak and beat the host Colts 47-32.
West Jessamine managed only two points in the first quarter and five more in the second, and Lincoln led 27-7 at halftime. Shakelia Miller scored 12 points and Savannah Lane added 11 for the Lady Patriots, and nine other players scored between one and four points.
Miller added five rebounds, four steals and three assists. Lane was 4-for-8 from the field and 4-for-4 from the free-throw line. "Savannah had an outstanding game taking the ball to the basket," Lincoln coach Don Story said.
Sabrina Spears added five steals for the Lady Patriots.
Lincoln won despite shooting 30 percent from the field and being outrebounded 46-35. The Lady Patriots were just 1-for-8 from 3-point range and 14-for-25 at the foul line.
