The former activity director of Glenway Lodge, Pat Booth, recently presented a certificate for volunteer services to Mildred Berryman at a reception held Dec. 10 for the volunteer workers at the facility. Approximately 100 volunteers attended the reception and lodge administrator Glenn White addressed the group.

With the passing of the 1982 city budget on Tuesday, Winchester embarks upon this year with no tax hike, but with the possibility of reduced services.

Clark County Clerk Beckner Shimfessel swore in eight deputy jailers in recent ceremonies. Deputies are Joanne Goolman, Jeff Smith, Wanda Martin, Carl Lawson Jr., Karen McCaslin, Walter Martin, Eddie Williamson and Larry Griggs.

Faced with rising costs and limited funds, the Winchester Parking Authority is gearing up for a year of fiscal conservation. But the group is optimistic that it will be able to move ahead with at least some programs to reduce downtown parking problems.

The Sun congratulates: Mr. and Mrs. Earl Allen Pasley, Mount Sterling, on the birth of a son Dec. 31 at the Clark County Hospital.

Officers of the Clark County Democratic Women's Club were installed during the club's annual installation dinner at the Holiday Inn. Officers installed were Christine Elkin, vice president, and Edith Crace, treasurer. Gertrude Crim was honored as outgoing president and officers were installed by Betty Jo Heick, Bourbon County clerk.
