The Wilmore Senior Community Center's Jessamine Crossroads Monthly Forum will be held at 3:30 p.m. This month's subject is "How our County is Plugged into the World." The forum is free and open to the public.

The Jessamine County Senior Citizens Center is having a shopping trip to Fayette Mall. Departure time from the senior center is 9:30 a.m. The cost to ride the center's bus is $3. Call 885-9102 to sign up.

The Jessamine County Library will present "The Solution to Your Resolution" on Thursday, Jan. 11 at 7 p.m. Confused over getting back into shape? Losing a few pounds? The West Jessamine High School Fine Arts Program presents "Fiddler on the Roof" Jan. 12, 13, 18, and 19 at 7:30 p.m. and a matinee Jan. 13 at 2:30 p.m. Ticket prices are $5 with a student ID or $8 general admission.

Saturday

Lake Mingo Skate Park Design Workshop will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Ag building at City/County Park. Food will be served.

Jessamine County AARP Chapter 4787 will meet at the Senior Center on Hoover Drive at 1:30 p.m. The public is invited.

The Wilmore Senior Community Center will offer computer word processing class on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons from 1-3 p.m. The classes begin Jan. 4 and end Jan. 30. You do not need to own a computer to join the class. Cost of the class is $49.

The Wilmore Senior Community Center's Book Discussion Group will meet Thursday, Jan. 23 at 5:30 p.m. Author Steve Flairty will present an in-depth biography of Tim Farmer. Dinner is included for a cost of $10. For more information, call Ruth Butler at 858-8910.

The Wilmore Senior Community Center will host Village Movie Night on Jan. 25 at 6 p.m. This month's movie will be the 1934 Academy Award-winning Best Picture, "It Happened One Night," starring Clark Gable and Claudette Colbert. The event is free and open to the public.

Presely Tours is having a Travel Party at the Jessamine County Senior Citizens Center on Monday, Jan. 22 at 12:15 p.m. to discuss a possible out-of-state trip to be sponsored by the senior center. All interested seniors are invited to attend. Call 885-9102 for more information.

The AARP Driving Class will be offered at the Jessamine County Senior Citizens Center on Jan. 23 and Jan. 25 from noon to 4 p.m. Participants may qualify for a discount on auto insurance. The cost is $10. Call 885-9102 to register.

Mount Freedom Baptist Church, located at 100 S. Lexington Ave. in Wilmore, will begin an 11-week women's Bible Study entitled "Living Beyond Yourself" beginning Tuesday, Jan. 23. The study will be conducted on Tuesday nights from 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. and Wednesday morning's beginning Jan. 24 from 9-11:15. The Nicholasville Rotary Club meets every Monday for its weekly lunch at noon at the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce.

John Gordon with the National Weather Service will be the guest speaker at the Jessamine County Chamber of Commerce luncheon Jan. 18 at noon.
